How pickup works
When you choose to donate your ATV, UTV, or side-by-side to CarLift Baltimore, we handle the pickup logistics for you. Our team often utilizes a trailer or small flatbed truck to retrieve your vehicle, even without a title for off-road-only units. If your vehicle is parked at a farm, ranch, or hunting cabin, we coordinate with you to ensure a smooth pickup. We can also utilize VIN or engine number identification for your vehicle to ease the process. Optional utility trailers are accepted for donation as well!
What drives donation value
The value of your donated ATV or UTV is influenced by several factors. For 4-stroke ATVs, the hours of use often matter more than mileage. Models like the Polaris RZR and Can-Am are popular in the used market, impacting their resale values positively. Well-maintained vehicles, especially those with service records, attract better valuations, while any dents and plastic fade may incur discounts. Interestingly, non-running units still possess parts value, making them worthwhile for donation.
Documentation you need
- Title (if available)
- Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (MSO) for off-road vehicles
- Service records (if applicable)
- IRS Form 8283 Section B for appraisals on classic models
- Bill of sale as needed
Baltimore specifics
In Baltimore and throughout Maryland, the DMV has specific guidelines for the titling of ATVs and UTVs. Many off-road-only vehicles don’t require a title, making it easier for those wanting to donate. However, a bill of sale may be necessary to complete the donation process. Understanding local regulations can help streamline your donation and ensure compliance.
